BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LOCAL playwright Moses Byron, known for plays such as ‘Married Man Money Sweet’ and ‘The Cry’, has added another production to his name.

The play, titled ‘The Governor’s Son’, which features actors from St. Kitts Star Actors and the Youth Exploring Talent Theatre will be staged for first time at the Old Girls School on Victoria Road from 8:00 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 28) and also on the following night at the same time.

In an interview with Byron, who is also directing the play, he said ‘The Governor’s Son’ depicts justice and fairness and the inspiration “came after observing events of injustice where people get away because of their status”.

Bryon noted that the play focuses on a particular officer who decides to stand up against injustice, adding that he tried to paint a picture that all men should be equal and receive a fair opportunity regardless of their position or family background.

The production has 13 characters including Davina Cranston, Rae-Dawn Thomas, Jamilla Fraser, Trisan Duncan, Nigel Brown and Ramange Benjamin as the Governor.

With over 30 years of experience in writing plays, Byron said this one should be a really good presentation as it entails much real life experiences in society.

Byron said he and the actors would be kept very busy because they are expected to release another play called ‘Waiting For Your Lover’ for this year’s Valentine’s Day.
