BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POPULAR Nevisian sports enthusiast Stevenson Manners will soon be making a trip to Miami with US$500 spending money after he was adjudged winner of the Seven Seas Promotion on Tuesday (Jan. 25).

Announcement of the promotion’s winner was made on Tuesday (Jan. 25) at the Bird Rock Head Office of RAM’S Trading Limited by Trading, Health and Beauty Manageress Shirley Julius, who said that the promotion had begun in October 2010.

She stated that a number of supermarkets and pharmacies across the Federation had participated in the promotion, which allowed anyone purchasing EC$50 and over an entry into the draw.

“We at RAM’s Group of Companies believe in giving back to our customers, so we decided in October to partner with the Seven Seas Brand to hold this promotion where you can win yourself a trip to Miami and US$500 in spending money. We did this in all the supermarkets and leading pharmacies on St. Kitts and Nevis,” she said.

Julius noted that they are very satisfied with the general response, noting “we got over 50 entries, which meant that they were each over $50, and we are happy to announce that the person who won, Mr. Stevenson Manners of Nevis, his entry came from RAM’s in Nevis”.

The manageress declared that, for 2011, significant emphasis would be placed on further promoting Seven Seas products while increasing the level of education on the benefits and effects of them. She said that two of their primary partners in achieving this are doctors and pharmacists who would aid in further promoting the product to their patients in an effort to get more persons aware.

Meanwhile, Regional Portfolio Manager of Health and Nutrition Division of Stansfeld Scott, Randy Marshall said that his company is pleased with the level of success achieved by RAM’S in the execution of the promotion. Marshall noted that he is happier to know that the winner of the promotion is a long-standing purchaser of the products.

Commenting on one of his company’s initiatives, Marshall said a number of new products were introduced into the market to aid in further promoting the brand. He spoke about the importance of education and how it could assist in getting his company’s message to consumers on the benefits of their products.

“Ideally, for us, it is very important to educate the public on the importance of products like these.”

Marshall told a very attentive audience that his company’s OMEGA 3 brand aids significantly in assisting persons affected by Alzheimer’s and asthma diseases, adding that there is evidence that indicates OMEGA 3 has been a very successful and proven product.

“We are happy that the product is doing very strong here, and we intend to bring more programmes and promotions this year to further promote the product,” he said in response to how well is the Federation’s response to the product.

Marshall however noted that while they have to make some changes and improvements on their products, they are pleased that the Federation’s market continues to be consistent.

“While I do not have all the figures in terms of dollars and cents, I can tell you that RAM’S did very well last year and has been very consistent in their performance over the years, and they are one of our stronger players,” Marshall declared.

The Regional Portfolio Manager of Health and Nutrition Division further commended the local agent for its continued aggressive and significant efforts in further pushing his company’s products.

Marshall also declared that he is very impressed with some of the initiatives Julius intends to implement. “Some of the initiatives that Ms. Julius indicated that she plans on doing are in-store trade activities and consumer promotions. So there is a lot of stuff coming through this year.”

Describing himself as someone who takes things in stride, Manners said he was very elated on hearing he had won the prize. He revealed that this is the first time he has won anything relating to raffle and noted that he is enjoying the moment.

“I am a guy who takes things in stride generally, so I am very excited even though I am not showing it. I am very excited to be getting a trip to Miami, and even though it’s a place that I have been to, and it’s a good place to go up to for vacation, I am already contemplating how as a family we will work around it to be pleasurable for everyone.”

Manners added that he is a very strong advocate for Seven Seas products, stressing that he has been taking it all his life.

“…my mother ensured that I did that, and she said it would promote bright healthy teeth and string bones and improve your nervous systems. She even told me that it would improve my silky voice, as from a kid I have been on stage doing poems and recitations and so on. I have found Seven Seas to be an extremely good product,” he declared.
