BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE trial of Asgarilli Rogers was adjourned yesterday (Feb. 1) by His Lordship Justice Errol Thomas after his lawyer was not present to represent him in the Basseterre High Court.

Rogers, who pleaded not guilty at his arraignment, is charged with breaking and entering and larceny of the home of Adora Warner on February 23, 2010.

When asked by His Lordship if he had a lawyer, Rogers said he had contacted Hesketh Benjamin but was unable to get in touch with him to discuss the case.

He also informed the court that Benjamin had his deposition, and Justice Thomas decided to adjourn the case until today after the jury was selected.

The court was told that Rogers allegedly stole a number of items from Warner’s home, including a laptop, cellular phones, digital cameras, microwave and a router, valued over EC$7 000.
