CCC Bath United overpowers Combined Schools

Bath v School
By: Curtis Morton, Press Release

CHARLESTOWN Nevis, February 2nd 2011 - The excitement continued in the local Football league last evening at the ETW Park when CCC Bath United engaged Combined Schools.  As the moments ticked away to the final whistle the School team which is comprised of some seasoned players in addition to some school boys, pressured the Bath defence relentlessly as they tried their utmost to equalize.

Even the best efforts of Shelly Taylor who screamed for her talented son ‘Akbo’ Taylor to ‘score’, was to no avail, as the Bath defence remained firm and constantly kept them out, even though there were some close shaves.

The first goal was scored in an unfortunate fashion for the school team when in only the fourth minute of the game, Leroy ‘Jun Jun’ Sweeney in his efforts to clear the danger area managed to score an ‘own goal’.

The School team wasted little time in responding though, as in the fourteenth minute, Shaeed Tyson rattled the Bath defence, found the space and ultimately, the back of the net.

The score line at half time was one goal-all.

In the second half CCC Bath United took a decisive lead when the fleet footed Dale Farrel put away a cross from the equally fleet footed Delvon Clarke.  The Bath men then made a determined effort to hold on to that lead until the final whistle.

Final score 2 goals to 1 in favour of CCC Bath United.
