BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOLLOWING the adjournment of his trial on Tuesday, Asgarilli Rogers appeared yesterday (Feb. 2) before His Lordship Justice Errol Thomas at the Basseterre High Court and pleaded guilty to receiving a number of items that were stolen from his neighbour’s home in Connell Street, Mc Knight.

Rogers, who had pleaded not guilty at his arraignment, was charged with breaking and entering and larceny of Adora Warner’s home on February 23, 2010.

His trial was scheduled to begin on Tuesday but he was unrepresented and Justice Thomas adjourned the case until yesterday after the jury would have been selected.

He was represented by Attorney-at-Law Chesley Hamilton. However, before the case began a request was made for the charges to be reread to him and he changed his plea to guilty for receiving.

His Lordship told Rogers that he would be remanded in custody and have to appear in the same court for sentencing on Thursday, February 17, 2011.

The court was told that the police executed a search warrant on Rogers’ home on March 10, 2010 and found a number of stolen items that belonged to his neighbour.

The items found are one Hewlett Packard (HP) CPU and keyboard, one Dura brand DVD player, one Magic Chef microwave, two HIS Tower bolts, three Samsung cellular phones, two Sony Ericsson cellular phones, one Nokia cellular phone, one Sony Home Audio with two speakers and one skill power drill.

Prosecutor Rhonda Nisbett-Browne told SKNVibes that on the day in question, Warner had left her home and on return she found it was broken into and a number of items missing.
