Hammer beating case against Bounty Killer dismissed

Bounty Killer

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE cross, angry dancehall singer, Bounty Killer, can now rest easy as the charges brought against him for a September 2010 incident were dismissed.

In an article headlined ‘Bounty Killer just can’t seem to stop beating women’ that SKNVibes posted on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, a badly bruised female had made a report on Saturday (Sep. 18) that she was beaten by the singer while at his apartment.

The article stated that the woman did not intend to press charges but her friends drew the police’s attention to the matter. She was said to have received 19 stitches on one of her arms and reportedly said Bounty Killer had beaten her with a hammer.

However, as a result of the incident, the Alliance Camp leader appeared in court earlier this week to answer to charges of assault, but they were dismissed after his lawyer Christopher Townsend made a no case submission, because the complainant and her attorney failed to attend the court hearing.

He also had a similar charged dismissed in 2009 after a 22-year-old woman failed to make an appearance before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate Court

Although Bounty Killer, who was born Rodney Pryce, has been in the music business for over 20 years, he still remains one of Jamaica’s most controversial artistes and is widely recognised for his contributions to the art form.
