    BASSETERRE St.Kitts, February 13th 2011 - There was tremendous excitement at Beaumont Park last evening as the grand Valentine Bash meet was held.  Due to inclement weather, the final race was run in fading light but that did not put a damper on the excitement. The huge crowd was thrilled with some fantastic races from the five card event.

     


    Here are the results of the races for the day:

     


    Race one

     


    1 Dryden ridden by Jason Liburd
    2 Zagros
    3 New York Prince

     


    Race two

     


    1 Murray’s Mazal-ridden by Michael Semple
    2 Babosa (out of Antigua)
    3 High wire glory

     


    Race three

     


    1 Frontier Sky—ridden by Michael Semple
    2  Spar Dance
    3 Tied-in Twine

     


    Race Four

     


    1 Renwood Ridge-ridden by Wilfred Costell
    2 Ski for luck
    3 God’s grace

     


    Race Five

     


    1 American Dance –still undefeated after five races
    2 Osuna
    3 Elizabul—the former Mr. Big stuff—out of Antigua

     


    Jockey of the day—Michael Semple

     


    Jockey of the year—Jason Liburd—with 25 wins

     


    Horse of the year—Tizbig—based on a vote by the horse racing fans.

     


    Trainer of the year—Lester Warren.  He had 12 starts and won 11—just edged out Edward Mohan by one race.
