Ms. Keesha Jones, Assistant Manager, TDC Home and Building Depot (Nevis) handing over the sponsorship cheque to Mr. Huey Sargeant, Public Relations Officer (PRO) Nevis Culturama Secretariat | The Nevis Culturama Secretariat has received the full support of one of the Federation's leading business houses, the TDC Group of Companies.
In a brief ceremony held on Tuesday 1st August 2006, Ms. Keesha Jones, Assistant Manager of the TDC Home and Building Depot in Nevis, presented a sponsorship package valued at twelve thousand dollars (EC$12,000.00) to the Secretariat for the TDC Senior Kaiso Monarch Competition.
In handing over the cheque, Ms. Jones reiterated the Company's commitment to cultural advancement within the Federation. She also disclosed that this was the first time that the Group has sponsored the event.
"We, at TDC recognize the importance of maintaining the rich traditions of our people and have continued to support Culturama and its related activities. This year we took our involvement to another level, for the first time as sponsors of the Senior Kaiso Monarch Competition, which is one of the highlights of this Annual extravaganza," stated Jones.
Mr. Huey Sargeant, Public Relations Officer of the Culturama Secretariat accepted the cheque and expressed the organization's appreciation for the generous gesture.

Additionally, Harris Paints (Dominica) Limited a Corporate partner of the TDC Group, has sponsored Miss Cherisse Sutton, a contestant vying for the title of Miss Culture 2006/2007. Ms. Sutton was presented with a cheque for twenty-five hundred dollars (EC$2500.00) to assist her with preparations for the Show.
"I thank Harris Paints (Dominica) Limited for this making me their representative in the Queen Pageant. It will be my honour to make them proud," said a smiling Sutton.
Over the years, both TDC and its Principals have contributed to a number of activities that underscore the importance of Culture, such as, the National Carnival, the St. Kitts Music Festival, and several Community - based Expositions on both islands.
