Kevin Munroe Issac is new High Commissioner to London
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FORMER Minister of Sports and Parliamentary Representative of Constituency Five, Jacinth Henry-Martin was recently appointed the Federation’s Ambassador-designate to the US and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of American States in Washington, DC.
Henry-Martin’s appointment and a number of other top government officials were made public by Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil Douglas at his first monthly press conference for the year held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
She was the Deputy High Commissioner in the United Kingdom and also the Director of US Operations for the St. Kitts Tourism Authority; a designation she ended in December 2010.
The PM said that Patricia Martin was appointed Acting Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Tourism and International Transport, and that she has held that position since September 2010.
Dr. Douglas stated that Lloyd Lazar is on extended leave and Kurt Lewis has since been appointed Acting PS in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Post, while Lenrick Lake will be the Acting PS in the Ministry of Housing, Public Utility and Works.
Lake replaced Oaklyn Peets who has been seconded to the PetroCaribe office in the Federation.
Following the retirement of Wrenford Rogers, Blondel Franks was appointed Personnel Officer in the Ministry of Education and Information, while Clyde Thompson has replaced Antonio Wilson as Registrar of Cooperatives. Wilson too has recently retired.
Meanwhile, His Excellency Kevin Monroe Isaac was appointed High Commissioner-designate of St. Kitts and Nevis to the Court of St. James in London, England. He succeeds Dr. James Williams who has held that post since 2001.
According to Dr. Douglas, Isaac has been a substantial resource since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis in 1992, adding that he has served broadly as a Foreign Service Officer.
