BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – PERRY BROWNE of Half Way Tree was on Friday (Feb. 18) remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison after being charged for allegedly possessing an illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition.
According to reports, at about 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 16) police executed a search warrant on Browne’s home and found one .25 semi-automatic pistol and 13 matching rounds.
The 25-year-old, the firearm and ammunition were taken into police custody. He was charged two days later and appeared on that said day before a City Magistrate, who remanded him to prison until his trial date.
This has been the second illegal firearm taken off the streets of the Federation for the year. In 2010 police had removed 45 of them off the streets – 11 in Nevis and 34 in St. Kitts.
