FRIGATE BAY, St. Kitts, 23rd February 2011 - The Royal St. Kitts Golf Club (RSKGC) has been buzzing with activities this month. The newly elected executive promises to organize exciting and fun-filled events for the 2011 golfing calendar.
On Saturday 12th, the Canadian membership hosted the inaugural Canuck Open. This event was well attended with teams of four vying for the title. The organizers did a fantastic job and surprised participants with a very unorthodox prize-giving ceremony.
The Rams Group continued its outstanding support for golf in the federation with their commitment to sponsor four monthly medals. The first of these medals was sponsored by Rams Supermarkets on Saturday 19th. Winners were treated to vouchers that can be redeemed for groceries. This event was also used as a qualifier to select the St. Kitts team for the East Caribbean Golf Championships (ECGA) to be held later this year.
On the Saturday 26th the RSKGC will host the annual Bibi Harridyal Memorial Tournament. This tournament raises funds for the Asthma Clinic at JNF Hospital. All golfers in the federation are encouraged to support this event and contribute to the upgrade of the asthma clinic.
