La Guerite resident narrowly evades gunmen’s wrath

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – QUICK thinking and evasive action are the primary factors that have caused a male resident of La Guerite not to die or suffer injuries when two masked gunmen fired several shots at him.

Information reaching this publication indicates that at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 20), two masked gunmen fired multiple shots at Cheris ‘Beenie Man’ Syder while he was at his La Guerite home.

It was revealed that while Syder was about to exit his home, he saw two armed, masked men coming out from a clump of bushes south of his residence.

The men approached and fired a number of shots at him but he managed to evade them by running north into some bushes where he secreted himself. The gunmen however gave chase but abandoned the task after he disappeared from their view.

When contacted, Assistant Commissioner with responsibility for Crime, Ian Queeley confirmed that the incident did occur and stated that police had responded and investigations are underway.

Queeley also stated that the crime scene was processed and a number of items of evidential value were taken into custody for further analysis.

He informed that a 17-year-old male is currently in custody assisting police with their investigation into the matter.
