BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, FEBRUARY 22ND 2011 (CUOPM) – Kittitians and Nevisians in the British City of Birmingham, England, will honour Ambassador Dr. James Williams, former St. Kitts and Nevis High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
“Dr. Williams will be honoured at the Centennial Centre, Birmingham for his commitment and dedication to St. Kitts and Nevis and the extraordinary work he has done within the St. Kitts and Nevis community in the United Kingdom on Saturday 5th March 2011,” said event organiser, Mr. Sammy Millard on behalf of the Steering Group Birmingham.
“Whilst emphasising St. Kitts and Nevis in his mission, Dr. Williams is quite unique amongst his peers, in that he did not view his role as confined to his fellow country men and women, but one of embracing the whole Caribbean Diaspora. As a result of this, the celebratory event is being jointly organised by a collection Kittitians and Nevisians and other Caribbeans,” said Millard.
The event will include dinner, entertainment, tributes and a raffle; with additional amounts raised being donated to a children's charity in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Millard said admission will be by inclusive pre-paid tickets only at a cost of £30.00 and can be purchased Diane: 07850 031244 or dianesawyers@live.co.uk and Charlene: 0121 772 6041/ 07968 486881 or charliedaniel_james@yahoo.co.uk
