British national found dead in Calypso Bay home

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ROBERT SAVINE, a British national, was discovered dead in his Calypso Bay home in Frigate Bay on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.

According to Ian Queeley, Assistant Commissioner with responsibility for Crime, at about 11:57 a.m. on Tuesday, officers at the Frigate Bay Outpost received reports that Savine was discovered dead in his home and the body was in the early stages of decomposition.

Queeley stated that the District Medical Officer was summoned to scene and pronounced the Englishman dead.

“Because of the body being in the early stages of decomposition, an autopsy was conducted on the following day by Resident Pathologist Dr. Adrian Nunez, who disclosed that death was due to coronary failure. He also said that no foul play was suspected,” Queeley said.

SKNVibes learned that the 51-year-old Caucasian was an employee of Kittitian Hill and was told by the Director of Human Resource, Kathy Kaesmacher, that he had only been employed with the company some 12 days prior to his death.

Kaesmacher said the unmarried man’s body was discovered by a representative of Kittitian Hill and an employee of Calypso Bay Resorts, who notified the police of their find.

She also said that the company had already informed his next of kin of his demise, along with management’s heartfelt condolences, and that the body would be flown to England sometime next week for interment.
