BRADES, Montserrat (February 24, 2011) – His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Peter Waterworth & Mrs. Waterworth will get an official send off on Thursday, March 3 when their tour of duty ends here.
According to a Government House release, “they will depart from Montserrat at lunchtime on that date and members of the public, including school groups, who wish to see them off are invited to congregate on the taxi car park at the John A. Osborne Airport at 11.45 am.
“Mr. & Mrs. Waterworth arrived in Montserrat on 27 July 2007 and Mr. Waterworth was sworn in as Governor on that same date at a special meeting of Legislative Council.
“Mr. Waterworth is retiring from the Diplomatic Service on the completion of his tour of duty here.
“Following Mr. Waterworth’s departure, the Hon Deputy Governor Mrs. Sarita Francis, will act as Governor until the arrival of the new substantive Governor, Mr. Adrian Davis in mid April,” the statement said.
