Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer run for cover from bottles at weekend concert

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ONE of the most anticipated stage shows held in Jamaica turned out to be a disaster on Saturday (Feb. 26) as some artistes had to run for cover.

The concert, Follow Di Arrow, featured a number of top artistes from Jamaica, but things went sour when the throwing of bottles and stones as well as the sound of gunshots rang out.

According to 876Radio, patrons attending the function also had to seek cover under the stage, behind speaker boxes and other places they thought were safe, as the popular event ended in chaos.

Reports indicated that after the cross, angry artiste Bounty Killer was called to the stage to perform, missiles then started being pelted towards the stage, leaving the artistes and his entourage to run for cover.

The reports further indicated that the throwing of the missiles had stopped and Portmore’s leader Vybz Kartel then appeared onstage but quickly had to take cover as the throwing of bottles recommenced.

Although people are still wondering what caused the throwing of the bottles and are uncertain if it were the authorities who fired shots, the sponsors, Magnum, said they condemn that type of behaviour and noted that the show had started with positive vibes which was shattered by an unfortunate incident.
