BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation’s lone female DJ, Sweet Sister Sensia, will be heading for Antigua this weekend for one of Poison Dart’s Sound members’ seventh annual birthday bash to be held at the Coast Night Club.
Frisco, who has been the ‘Mike MC’ for the popular Antigua Sound and holds 14 years of experience with them, is celebrating his birthday today (Mar. 7).
The black and white affair will also feature 3Seven, King Warrior, Sister Souljah, Stone Wall, Kanabis, Land Mine, Lava, Warlord Sound, Brisket, Altitude, Ibis and Wooden Foot.
According to Sensia, it would be her first time playing at this event but not her first working in Antigua.
Sensia told SKNVibes that she and the Poison Dart Sound are quite familiar with each other as they have together played at a number of events and they are aware of her skills.
The female DJ, who is employed as a full time manager in the day and a radio personality at night, said she also has a number of other gigs lined up in St.Thomas, Tortola and Anguilla.
Sensia said what she enjoys most about playing overseas is the opportunity to meet new people and show them what she could do. She said seeing new faces enjoy her vibes is always a great experience.
Although being a good DJ has its demands, Sensia said she enjoys every bit of it. She noted that all of her Saturdays are completely booked until June.
Asked how she manages to juggle all three of her jobs, Sensia said, “I can’t be bored. I’m used to it and I enjoy what I do. So as long as you enjoy what you do it will become something fun to you. And because of the fact that I enjoy what I do, it doesn’t bother me at all. I do this to live the life I want and also to make my mother and father as well as the fans proud. I enjoy travelling and representing St. Kitts as a female DJ.”
Frisco said the event would see lots of give-a-ways and photo shoots upon entry by Photo Xpress.
