St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has hailed the contribution of young people in the twin-island Federation in ensuring the success of the just concluded Culturama 2006 celebrations.
Speaking at a cocktail party at the Four Seasons Resort, Dr. Douglas said the annual event would not be what it is without three important events among the activities planned for the annual affair.
He said the first must involve the local Nevis Island Administration, which has demonstrated its full support of this internationally-known event held on Nevis.
"The second important event is the support from the Federal Government in the form of the Prime Minister's Cocktail Party and I am pleased to be here tonight as host in honour of the beautiful ladies on Nevis," said Dr.
Douglas.
Thirdly, he identified the involvement of the contestants and other participants in the Culturama activities.
"Apart from the natural beauty, charm and talent that they bring and display, you also represent and showcase the youths of our nation, the young people full bloom in their intelligence, their talents and their skills as they display their appreciation of our art and our culture through music and other forms of entertainment that would bring the people of St. Kitts and Nevis together at this time," said Dr. Douglas.
