Leeward Islands opening batsman, Kieran Powell is hopeful that he may be available for the final round match for his team which bowls off on March 25th versus the Windwards in St.Lucia.
Powell who got injured during an earlier game, has been recuperating nicely and expects some positive results as he looks forward to some X-rays of the damaged hand, shortly. If the results are positive, he is hopeful that he should be able to play in his team’s final game.
The talented opener indicated that he is currently not feeling a lot of pain and has even experimented in putting on his batting gloves and gripping the bat, but will not get into any actual hitting until he gets the results of the X-ray.
Powell spoke while he was at the Gingerland Recreation grounds on Tuesday as the honoured Patron at the Gingerland Secondary School annual sports meet.
The Leewards will play this weekend versus Barbados in Antigua and would be looking for positive results after defeating a powerful Trinidad and Tobago team in their last round.
