BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Molineux football team today are still licking their wounds following a 7-2 defeat handed down by Cayon Football Club in an SKNFA Division One match played on Wednesday (Mar. 16).

The game, which was played at the Cayon playing field, saw both teams going to the half time break with Cayon leading 2 – 1.  However, on return the Cayon players seemed determined to take full control of the game and it was obvious when Leroy Daniel on three occasions found the back of Molineux’s net.

Daniel’s goals came in the 59th, 78th and 87th minutes. Troy Miller struck twice in the second and 43rd minutes, Kurt Morton in the 71st and Jason Richards in the 84th minute.

Scorers for Molineaux were Jamie Henry in the 27th minute and Jahvese Sabratti in the 64th.

There were two bookings during the game which saw Craig Phillip (Molineaux) and Curtis Archibald (Cayon) receiving yellow cards, while Quincy Taylor (Molineaux) was sent off in the 10th minute after receiving a red card.

The officials for the game were Ike Inniss, James Matthew and Shatresha Ephraim.

Meanwhile, at the Newton Ground playing field, the home team (Newton Ground FC) was unable to secure a victory over Conaree Fireball International despite a 3-2 lead going into half time. The game however finished with a draw (3-3) after Conaree found the equaliser.

Officials were Earl Leerdam, Sherlene Browne and Miguel Flemming.

The league continues today (Mar. 17) at 6:00 p.m. with Mantab taking on KFC Trinity Challengers in a Premier Division matchup at the Newtown playing field.
