CHARLESTOWN Nevis, March 18th 2011 - It was a large crowd in attendance yesterday at the St.Thomas Primary school grounds, as the Inez France Pre School held its annual sports meet. Someone hinted that the St.Thomas people were practising for the big inter primary day.
The meet was held under the patronage of hard working Teacher Ms Melissa Pemberton who immediately after officiating at the march past, changed from her exquisite dress into T-shirt and jeans to assist the children and ensure that the meet went smoothly.
The children competed in the thread the roll; obstacle race; tyre race; flat race and fill the bucket. However, one of the features for the afternoon was the bicycle exhibition race which created much excitement.
The excitement reached fever pitch however, as male and female parents competed against each other to climax the event and there was even a Teachers’ race.
At the end of the day, the final scores were:
Green house—champions—301 points
Orange house—233 points
Red house ---217 points
