Black San strikes platinum again! Festival countdown is on!!

SPIRIT Press Release

SANDYPOINT St. Kitts, March 24th 2011 - The jam-down to Black San’ Bang-a-Lang  is underway with less than two weeks for the new community festival to awaken the nation with its crowd-drawing events. Plans are now set and a final batch of sponsors have recently joined in on the action days before the new fest hits the streets of Sandy Point from April 1-25.

Black San' has seen a tremendous outpouring of support from the business community, and in the last week alone, more businesses have joined the likes of RAM's, LIME, SKNVibes.com and Digicel in securing top spots on the sponsorship list. Indeed, TDC has announced its commitment as title sponsor for two events, joining its private sector counterparts as the latest platinum and events sponsor for the upcoming festival. TDC, known for its service and quality in almost every area from retail to rentals, now has a spectacular community festival to add to its list of accolades! The company has sponsored the TDC Family Affair Carnival and the TDC Black San’ Parade and Sun down cook-out: two events which are expected to hype up and cool down revelers respectively.

Black San will also benefit from the characteristic blue and yellow Carib Brewery stamp on its festival events as the local producer of Ting, Carib Beer and the famous Juicy drinks has also pledged its support to the festival’s three weeks of events. In fact, the Carib Brewery King a De San competition is set to be one of the highlights of the festivals packed calendar!

S L Stage Lighting and C&C Trading Ltd. have also chimed in as Gold sponsors and KFC’s bronze sponsorship promises to complement the donations made so far. This year's Black San' sponsorship titles were claimed by Diamonds & Pearls and E&K Supermarket, getting on to the sponsorship train and starting their work in community development.

SPIRIT PRO Judy DuPont reassured the public of the high quality of events that can be expected of Black San', directing much of the praise to businesses for their enormous show of support in the weeks leading up to the event.

'What I've witnessed is that we have been seeing support from the very large multi-national businesses right down to the very small corner-stores. But, irrespective of their sizes, what is common throughout is the private sector's willingness to invest in people and invest in this kind of promising community development. Patrons should only expect the best at Black San' as we pull communities together in a clean, safe environment for entertainment and education,' DuPont noted.

Other key festival sponsors include popular brands like G Squared Arts, iRepSKN, Island Expressions and Positively Inclined, and also community corporate sponsors Daniel's Trading, Triumph Beauty Store and St. Kitts Auto services.

Also, as the countdown to the festival reaches single digits, interested persons are asked to register now for the events as the participation slots are diminishing by the day! The SPIRIT Game Show and the Carib King a de san' Calypso  are still open for registration, and it's not too late to sign up for a slice of the excitement in the RAM's Endurance Bikeathon or in the Tractor-cade Wacky Farmer Browne costume! J'ouvert packages for the parade of troupes and the Service Charge j'ouvert troupe are rapidly going! Interested persons, who wouldn't want to miss history in the making, are asked to register by sending their name and age and event to sandypointspirit@gmail.com  or call 662-2500.
