BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO young men are currently in custody assisting police with their investigations into the Saturday afternoon (Mar. 19) robbery of the Carib Brewery Depot on Wellington Road.
Information reaching SKNVibes states that sometime between 3:45 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, two armed, masked men entered the Depot, held the cashier at gunpoint and demanded he give them money from the cash register.
The cashier complied and the two bandits fled the scene through a wooden door on the northern side of the building with an undisclosed sum of money.
This media house learned that the northern wooden door is normally kept locked but was open at the time of the robbery. It was also through that door the gunmen had made their entrance and not the western one that caters for customers.
The incident was reported to the police at approximately 4:00 p.m. on the same day and sources close to the brewery informed that investigations led to the arrest of the two men who are employees of the company.
