ROADTOWN Tortola, BVI, March 30th 2011 - According to information reaching VINO, the funeral will take place at the Carrot Bay Seventh Day Adventist Church on the western end of the island. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. with a service immediately following.

The 26-year-old Harrigan will be buried at the Donavon Dawson Burial Grounds according to information reaching VINO from its team of reporters around the Virgin Islands.

Mr. Harrigan was killed on Wednesday March 16, 2011 while sitting with friends in the Sticket area in Long Look, and was shot at least twice. He is the first murder victim for 2011.  To date, no arrest has been made in his murder, however, two persons were questioned but released.

According to information obtained by VINO, Keri Riendo “Honk” Harrigan was born on January 5, 1985 to Betsy and Marvel Harrigan in St. Thomas, USVI. He was the second child of his mother and grew up in the Carrot Bay area.

At the age of 16, he moved with his family to Nottingham Estate, Long Look on Tortola.

In his early childhood, young Harrigan attended the Isabella Morris Primary School and the then BVI High School. He later went on to Job Corp. in Homestead, Florida where he received a trade in Carpentry from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters.

However, in 2003 he obtained his High School Diploma from the Department of Education in St. Thomas.

Mr. Harrigan over the years worked alongside his grandfather learning the trade of carpentry; he also worked in the construction industry with CBB Enterprises and up to the time of his death, with Raij Trucking.

The Virgin Islands’ first murder victim of 2011 also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and it was in one of those spots that his life violently ended.

The staff, management and Board of Directors of VINO express its sincere condolences to the family of the late Keri Harrigan.
