Sonia Boddie the only Kittitian student to pursue her bachelors' degree in the prestigious Universidad Internacional, located in Cuernavaca Mexico has been recognized by her University as the first Caribbean Student Ambassador. She was rewarded with this post after being an outstanding student during her first semester where she amassed an average of 9.8 and was actively involved in producing the University's first monthly magazine "Wake Up" in her capacity as collaborator and translator amongst many other things.
Following her appointment she journeyed to Amecameca in the Estado de Mexico this past 19th -20th August, on an all expense paid trip by her University to a seminar entitled "The Formation of Leaders". There she had the opportunity to interact with other student ambassadors from other states and to share ideas.
She mentioned that the seminar focused on three core areas being Leadership, Teamwork and Integration and that she will ensure that all that was learnt during the seminar bears fruit. She has also revealed that she is very delighted about her new post and that she will definitely represent her other Caribbean school mates and the Caribbean with pride and dignity. She says her major aim is to promote and create further awareness of the Caribbean and what we have to offer.

She says this appointment is a significant 'stepping stone' in her journey to complete her degree in International Relations and to accomplish her dream of being a Foreign Diplomat. She also mentioned that she has already laid the foundation to ensure that the university celebrates its first Caribbean Day, while presenting a concert entitled "A Taste of the Caribbean".
