Congratulation to Early Childhood Specialist

    BASSETERRE St. Kitss, April 4th 2011 - Early Childhood Co-ordinator, Ms. Jacqueline Morris congratulates and welcomes OAS Awardee, Ms. June Angela Wallace.

     


    Ms. Wallace left the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis to pursue a Masters Degree in Curriculum Instruction in Early Childhood Education in September of 2009.

     


    Ms Wallace attended the Dieppe Bay Primary, the Convent High School and the Sandy Point High School and acknowledges her scholastic experiences at these educational institutions.  Ms Wallace is a graduate of Cansave, the St Kitts/Nevis College of Further Education and the University of the West Indies. She began her career as an Early Childhood Practitioner in 1980 under the guidance of Ms Leonie James-the first Early Childhood Co-ordinator of St Kitts/ Nevis.

     


    Prior to pursuing her Master’s Degree Ms Wallace was appointed graduate Teacher and worked at the Early Childhood Development Unit. The early childhood educator also worked as an adjunct early childhood lecturer at the Clarence Fitzroy College.

     


    Throughout the extremely intense program, Ms Wallace was able to maintain a 4.00 GPA for each academic semester. Teacher June, as she is affectionately called graduated with the highest GPA (4.00)-Summa Cum Laude among her peers and was applauded and recognized for the best comprehensive paper in three years in the early childhood programme, at the University of South Florida. Ms Wallace was awarded the Deans Honors gold pin and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. The early childhood specialist completed the two year degree programme in a year and a half.

     


    Ms. June Angela Wallace attributes her success to God’s divine favor as well as the sterling support of her Aunt Ruth and Rose Pringle of Dieppe Bay, her children and family, her Church Rivers of Living Water Christian Center, The Organization of American States-(OAS), UNICEF, the Early Childhood Unit Staff, the Ministry of Education and lastly but by no means least the Government of St. Kitts/Nevis. Ms Wallace would also like to thank Ms Vanta Walters -past Co-ordinator for St. Kitts/Nevis and Mr. Starrod Green for their support and encouragement throughout the period of her internship.
