The Athletes selected comprised of persons who qualified for the A and B CARIFTA Standards, the World youth Qualifying standard and for persons who appear close to qualifying for the World Youths Championships.
SKNAAA’s Public Relations Officer Evris Huggins told SKNVibes that the selection committee had justified to the executive body its selection of the athletes, whom it claimed were the cream of the crop.
“We are very much confident, and coming off an accelerating Inter-Schools Championships, we are confident they (athletes) will represent the Federation,” The PRO said when asked if the Association is satisfied with the selection.
In 2010, St. Kitts and Nevis won two medals at the 39th CARIFTA Games held in The Cayman Islands. Having won a gold and silver medal, the Federation finished seventh from among the 25 participating countries.
Adrian Williams won gold in the Boys U-17 Javelin in his first ever Carifta appearance while Jason Rogers took silver in the Men’s U-20 100m.
