BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A close friend to the father of the late Jamie Williams, who prefers to remain anonymous, is offering an EC$6 000 reward to anyone who has information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the death of the 27-year-old.

The popular disc jockey, who is the son of Commissioner of Police Austin Williams, was gunned down last night (Apr. 6) at Buckley’s Estate sometime after 9:00 while in a yard with a group of individuals.

According to the close friend, who is a local businessman, he and the Commissioner have been “really close friends for several years and I share his pain”.

The businessman said that he views the killing of the Commissioner’s son as a callous and inhumane act by an individual who totally disrespects law and order and thinks not of the repercussions it would have on the Federation.

“This just goes to show that there is no respect for the law” he added. The man who seemed very irritate at the situation says he is very saddened by what is going on in the country and reiterated that the killing has to stop.

He stressed that the identity of the individual(s) providing the necessary information would be held in the strictest confidence, and that individual would be awarded an extra EC$4 000 if the information leads to a court conviction.

Persons with information are asked to contact Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) with responsibility for Crime, Ian Queeley. And should the information be proven credible, the reward will be given immediately.
