Raj Yoga Centre to conduct Meditation Course in St. Kitts

By: Jenise Ferlance, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Raj Yoga Centre of St. Maarten will be hosting a 90-minute lecture on ‘Thinking Positively’ this evening (Apr. 19) at the Newtown Community Centre and is inviting all interested persons to attend.

The lecture begins at 7:00 p.m., and according to Coordinator of the St. Maarten’s Chapter, Devki Ramsahai, it is to initiate a Meditation Course in St. Kitts.

Ramsahai explained that she would be travelling to St. Kitts once per month to offer at least one lecture to the general public, noting that the lectures would be done in different communities of the island if possible.

She stated that classes are kept in St. Kitts but not on a regular basis due to lack of experienced teachers, and that is the main reason for her being here to assist.

“We have one sister here but she is not very experienced at the moment, and this is why I am coming to assist. When I come, I am going to run a basic course on Meditation because the challenge is that we need an experienced teacher to begin with. So only when I come here or one of the experienced teachers comes will we run the course. But, until then, we are not able to do it on a regular basis.” Ramsahai said.

She declared that at the end of this evening’s lecture, those persons who are interested would be able to leave their name and contact number, and would be updated as to when the next course will take place.

Speaking briefly with a student, Esinton Watts, he said that Raj Yoga has been very beneficial to his life.

“It helped a lot in my spirituality...getting to know myself more. It has been helping me with my inner journey, helping me to know the importance of my inner self instead of just focusing on material things. I have been more in tune to that inner part of me; knowing myself as a spiritual being.” Watts said.

The lecture is free of charge and is open to the general public.

The Raj Yoga Centre is a branch of Brahma Kumaris, a spiritual organization committed to self-transformation through meditation and positive thinking.
