Green Valley Festival Chairman says preparations coming along fine

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS the months roll by, the Green Valley Festival Committee is slowly making preparations for the celebration of their much-anticipated 15th annual event to be held from June 6 to 13.

     

     

     

    SKNVibes Spoke to Chairman Vernon Benjamin, who indicated that plans are going very well.

     

     

     

    He said they are consulting s with some sponsors and making arrangement for various shows.

     

     

     

    Benjamin declared that this year the Senior Calypso Show and the Junior Calypso category would see 15 calypsonians to commemorate the 15 Anniversary.

     

     

     

    He noted that five young ladies are already onboard for the pageant and they are hoping to add a few more.

     

     

     

    “Some people have already started preparing troupes for Parade Day, and this year we are also hoping to have an exhibition. We had one for our 10th Anniversary, so we are hoping to do it again this year,” Benjamin said.

     

     

     

    The festival will also feature an International Night, which the Chairman said they are currently toying with a number of names.

     

     

     

    “We will like to have someone who will draw a cross section of the crowd and brings a variety of people including the young, the old and the in between. Last year we had Black Ryno and that was more for the young people,” he added.  

     

     

     

    Queen Angie currently holds the Green Valley Senior Calypso title and the reigning queen is Ivanka James.
