BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THREE men were yesterday (Apr. 27) each slapped with three charges relating to controlled drugs.
Charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and cultivation are 45-year-old Bryan ‘DJ Benjie’ Farrell of Shadwell Estate, Craig ‘Uncush’ Mills (29) of King Street and Quake Phillip (19) of Shadwell Estate.
According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughan Henderson, the illegal drugs were found on Farrell’s premises.
“On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at approximately 10:15 a.m., members of the Special Services Unit executed a search warrant on the premises of Farrell on suspicion of arms, ammunition and controlled drugs. During the search, police discovered a number of cannabis seedlings growing on the premises.
“As a result, the occupants, Farrell, Craig ‘Uncusha’ Mills and Quake Phillip, were arrested and the cannabis seedlings were also taken into police custody for evidential purposes,” Henderson said.
Just two and a half hours earlier, the three men and 24-year-old Leon ‘Solo’ Jederon of Conaree Village were taken into police custody after Jederon had allegedly thrown a 357 Magnum with six matching rounds into a clump of bush when police stopped a vehicle in which they were travelling on the FT Williams Highway.
Farrell owns the vehicle and was said to be the driver at the time of the arrest.
Jederon was subsequently charged with possession of firearm and ammunition.
