    Two juveniles in police custody

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO male students of Washington Archibald High School (WAHS) were in police custody yesterday (Apr. 28) for allegedly wounding a fourth-former of that learning institution.

Information reaching this publication states that at approximately 10:35 yesterday, shortly after the end of the morning’s recess, classes at the WAHS were disrupted because of a fight among three male students on the school’s volleyball court.

It was learnt that during the fight, a 14-year-old third-former of Conaree Village allegedly stabbed the fourth-former in his back and a number of male teachers intervened to prevent further bloodshed.

The third-former however managed to evade them, broke a long piece of wood from the school’s fence and attempted to attack the wounded student but was subdued by three teachers.

A search of his person was conducted in proximity of the administration office to locate the weapon he allegedly used to inflict the wound, but nothing was found on him.

A unit from the Emergency Medical Services transported the wounded student to the JNF Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is warded in stable condition.

The police were informed of the incident and the third-former along with a 16-year-old of New Road were taken into custody at the Basseterre Police Station.

Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughan Henderson, confirmed the stabbing incident and noted that the two juveniles are still in custody assisting police with their ongoing investigation.
