Police Press Release

    On Tuesday 29th August 2006, officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force discovered a quantity of vegetable material suspected of being cannabis while patrolling the Sandy Point mountain range. The officers also discovered twelve (12) cannabis plants ranging from three (3) to five (5) feet in height and one hundred and fifty (150) seedlings which were all destroyed. No one was held accountable for the find.

     

     

     

    The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is seeking the public's assistance in apprehending Phillip Jones alias "Slimbal" of Tabernacle Village. An arrest warrant is presently in existence for Jones in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Basseterre on Friday 25th August 2006. Jones is slim bodied and light in complexion, approximately 6"-2" in height, and is usually well groomed.

     

     

     

    Any person with information as to the whereabouts of Jones should contact the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigation Department at 465-2241, extension 236 or 466-8351 and can do so anonymously.

     

     
    The following persons were arrested and charged on 29th August 2006:

     

    ·         Marlon Bowrey alias "Jah Lion" of Basseterre was charged with the offence of "Carrying Abroad an Offensive Weapon" to wit a knife committed on 29th August 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Kimwell Matthew of Saddlers Village was charged with the offence of "Robbery" committed on 19th August 2006.

     

     

     

     The following persons were convicted at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Tuesday 29th August 2006;

     

     

     

    ·         Kervin Hanley of Boys Village who was charged with the offences of "Threatening Language, "Indecent Language", "Disorderly Conduct" and "Refusing to give his name" was convicted of all charges. He was sentenced for each charge as follows; to serve two (2) months imprisonment with hard labour; cautioned; and placed on a bond in the sum of $1,000.00 to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for six months or in default serve one month imprisonment with hard labour. The offences were committed on 14th August 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Rupert Bridgewater of Neverson Street West, who was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 22nd August 2006 was convicted and placed on a bond in the sum of $1,000.00 to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for six (6) months or in default serve three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour.
