Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, May 5th 2011 - Coming out of the Student Counsel Workshop hosted by Dr. Bronte Gonsalves at the Red Cross Building in Nevis on April 12th & 13 as a part of an End the Mayhem Campaign was a collaboration between the Student Counsels in St Kitts and Nevis and Operation Future.  A suggestion was made to the representatives of the Student Counsels that Mother’s Day cards be distributed to the students by Operation Future, the front of the card is blank allowing the students to decorate with their own art, inside is a pledge to the students mother that they will stay gang free.

The response from the Student Counsel was overwhelming.

On Tuesday, May 3rd members of Operation Future distributed 5,600 cards to the schools of the Federation at the request of the Student Counsels.  The Pledge is as follows:

    Dear Mom

    I have a bright mind
    I have a good heart
    I have a strong will
    I know I am smart
    I pledge today
    To stay gang-free
And to uplift my village and country
    No colours for me
    I am staying gang-free
    With all my love!
