Harris Paints (Dominica) Limited, through its local Agents, the TDC Group of Companies, has presented the National Organising Committee of the 2006 - Caribbean Gift and Craft Show (CGCS 2006), with 25 gallons of Harris white emulsion paint, to assist with preparations for the hosting the upcoming event.
Roslyn Sorhaindo, sales and marketing manager for Harris Paints (Dominica) Limited, travelled to St. Kitts to make the presentation to Austin Weekes, general manager of the Craft House, and host country co-ordinator of the Show. The presentation was held at the TDC Home and Building Depot on the Frigate Bay Road.
In handing over the corporate donation, Sorhaindo spoke of both companies' commitment to the advancement of the arts and craft in the Caribbean.
The paint valued at $2,025.00, is to be used to paint all of the display booths to be occupied by various vendors at the show.
We (Harris Paints) are very pleased to partner with TDC to advance the development of art and craft at this level. Our contribution to this venture is testimony to the joint efforts that continuously encourage integration and the development of business enterprises, expressed Sorhaindo.
In accepting the contribution, Weekes thanked both establishments for the generous gesture and stated his pleasure in having the support of the two companies on both local and regional levels.
On behalf of the National Organising Committee of the 2006 - Caribbean Gift and Craft Show, I wish to express my profound appreciation to TDC and Harris Paints.
"We are very grateful to have two Companies (one local and one regional) giving their support to the region's foremost showcase of Caribbean originality and creativity," Weekes said.
The CGCS - 2006 is being held in St. Kitts for the first time from 14 - 17 Sept. The event will create what is being considered as a melting pot of Caribbean cultures. It is expected that companies from the English, Spanish, French, and Dutch speaking territories will come together for a four-day trade and business expo.
