Press Release

    Sign erected in Basseterre

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, May 12th 2011 - Burglars had better beware.  They are causing such a wave of anger and frustration that homeowners have decided not to take things lying down.  They are fighting back.

Homeowners, especially the women are angry on two counts. ONE – they feel violated.  There are people walking free, who, as long as they put on a mask are able to violate their homes and their bodies.  Possessions they have worked hard for all their lives are just being taken away by scumbags who feel that they do not need to work for anything…scumbags whose motto seems to be “What is thine is mine also, and this includes your body, also”   ‘All that we need is a gun’ seems to be what they are saying.

On the second count, homeowners are totally fed up to find that this grossly unfair situation goes on unabated and fear for their sanity and yes, even their chastity, grows.  And as these incidents of burglary and rape go on week after week, some do not even feel it is any point reporting the incident.  Some have resorted to taking matters in their own hands.

In the more affluent neighbourhoods, signs like these below are appearing with greater frequency:

These homeowners are ensuring that alarm systems which burglars fear will protect them and their belongings. But these are just the visible signs of homeowners fighting back.  Behind the doors and under the beds within reach, the women are stockpiling their own weapons and swear that they intend to inflict damage in the most vulnerable places on any one found trespassing in their sacred homes.  Mask or no mask, gun or no gun, any man entering one of these homes confronting any of these angry women will be lucky to get away with his manhood intact. They can well believe that “Hell hath no fury like a woman whose house is violated!”

One homeowner couple, whose home has been burglarized no less than seven times, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that their home is not violated again. They have mounted a large, bold sign on their premises to show how serious they are about home security.

THIEVES! IF YOU CAN READ, BEWARE!  You will be walking directly into traps that are being set for you!

We must all join in this fight to secure our neighbourhoods.
