    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 3RD 2006  -
    Minister of Education, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor says the Ministry is awaiting the rankings from the Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) to determine the 2006 State Scholar.

    In a nation-wide radio and television address Minister Condor in reviewing the results of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) said the most outstanding student at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) in St. Kitts is Shauntel Liburd, who passed five Units, with Grade 1 (Distinctions).
     
    The most outstanding student at the Charlestown Secondary School in Nevis is Danielle Martin, who passed six units, four at grade 1.
     
    "We await the rankings from the Caribbean Examinations Council to determine the State Scholar.  The State Scholar is determined by the best seven units, that satisfy specific criteria, and which have been taken, over the last two years of the programme," said Deputy Prime Minister Condor.
