By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Beach Allen Primary School will be hosting its first ever Miss A.R.M.O.U.R Pageant at the school’s ground from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011.

The pageant will see six young beauties in Miss Accountability - Shalyah Williams, Miss Responsibility – Alyana Caines, Miss Motivation – Britney Wattley, Miss Organisation – Barisha Cranstoun, Miss Unity – Jahquysma Liburd and Miss Respect – Amelia Mc Koy.

According to the pageant’s Public Relations Officer, Aylahnique Thompson, the contestants are from Grades Five and Six.

She indicated that they would first take part in the Fanfare, followed by four judge-segments - Introductory Speech, Performing Talent, Sunday Best and Interview.

Thompson said that the show is a fundraising event for the school and also a platform for the contestants to display what they have been taught while on the A.R.M.O.U.R Programme.

The programme, which started in September 2010, encourages students to always wear their armour and to always be accountable for their actions.

Each contestant will represent a behaviour which begins with a letter from the abbreviated word A.R.M.O.U.R, which is also the theme of the programme - To be Accountable, Responsible, Motivated, Organise, United and Respectful.

The event will see a packed sideshow with performances by Infamus, Nicha B, Rolhensha, H20 Dancers, Shakal and Fire, with music provided by Chalice Sounds out of Cayon.
