By: Jenise Ferlance, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS promised, SKNVibes brings you another edition of ‘Business Update’; an article featuring what is happening in the business community around St. Kitts.

This week, telecommunications giant, LIME, launched a Phone Evolution Photo contest to mark World Telecoms Day.

The contest will run from May 17 to June 10 and it challenges individuals to submit a colour photograph of the oldest telephone that they own or have legitimate access to. Participants can submit one or several photos and should be e-mailed to oldphone@lime.com accompanied by the entrant’s name, date of birth, full address and contact details.

One winning photo will be chosen and the person who made the submission will win a coveted BlackBerry Smartphone.

The aim of the contest is to highlight the evolution of the telecoms industry and telephone equipment over the years.

The telecommunications company also announced its upcoming network upgrade from 2G technology to EDGE. This upgrade will enable LIME’s customers to access blazing fast internet and numerous sophisticated data services on their wireless devices.

The Royal Bank of Canada, a financial institution, is currently continuing its Mortgage Campaign. The campaign was launched on April 18 and it is scheduled to end at the beginning of June.

Consumers are offered zero percent down payment if they have their own property, 10 percent down payment with mortgage indemnity insurance and up to 30 years to complete payment with 7.75 percent interest.

The People for Animal Welfare on St. Kitts (PAWS) will be hosting an Adoption Day on May 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ross University Campus Large Animal Pavilion.

Friendly pets will be available for adoption and persons will learn about caring for their pets.

Toys collars, leashes and personally engraved pet name tags will be on sale as well as bumper stickers.
