Senior minister attends CRFM ministerial council meeting in Antigua

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, May 20th 2011 - Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, Senior Minister and Minister of Marine Resources is representing the Federation at a regional Ministerial Meeting of the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) in Antigua. 

     


    The opening ceremony took place on Friday, May 20, 2011.  Remarks were made by Hon Ezechiel Joseph, Minister of Fisheries of St Lucia, who is the outgoing Chairman of the CRFM and incoming Chairman and host Minister, Hon Hilson Baptiste of Antigua and Barbuda.  Closing remarks were made by Mr Hugh Saul, Executive Director of the CRFM Secretariat.

     


    Among the matters to be discussed is the common fisheries policy for the Caribbean Community, illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, the recruitment of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director of the CRFM Secretariat, draft CRFM Annual Technical Progress and Financial Report for 2010-2011 and Resource Mobilization.
