Police Press Release

    At approximately 06:20 a.m. on Tuesday 5th September 2006 officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force responded to a report where they visited an abandoned house at Upper College Street, Basseterre. There officers discovered the body of  a fifty-one (51) year old male adult lying in a pool of blood with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head.

     

     

     

    The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police is urging persons with information in relation to this incident, to contact the Criminal Investigation Department at 465-2241, extension 220, 236 or 466-8351 and can do so anonymously.

     

     

     

     

     

    The following persons were convicted and sentenced at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 4th September 2006;

     

     

     

    ·         A (16) sixteen-year-old female juvenile of Trafalgar Village was convicted of four (4) charges and sentenced as follows; three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour for a charge of "Wounding"; one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour for a charge of "Battery on a Police Officer"; she was reprimanded for a charge of "Resisting Arrest" and discharged for a charge of "Indecent Language". The offences were committed on 26th August 2006 while officers were apprehending the juvenile for breaching a court order.

     

     

     

    ·         Terrence Hendrickson of Temple Alley, Basseterre who was charged with the offence of "Wounding" committed on 22nd August 2006, was convicted and placed on a bond in the sum of $1,000.00 to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for six (6) months and to pay compensation in the sum of $500.00 in two (2) months or in default serve fourteen (14) days imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

     

     

    Also at the said court; Daverson Daniel of Upper Fiennes Avenue, who was charged with the offence of "Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm" committed on 4th July 2005, was bailed in the sum of $20,000.00 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 2nd October 2006.
