BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THREE convicts who were found guilty of various crimes will be sentenced tomorrow (May 31) at the Basseterre High Court by His Lordship Justice Errol Thomas, while two others, who were jointly convicted, will be sentenced on Thursday (June 2).
Elmond Dickenson, who was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Anthony Thomas in Lodge Village on November 6, 2010, was found guilty at his trial and will be sentenced tomorrow.
Kerrim Rawlins, who was originally charged with robbery and receiving but was found guilty only of receiving on May 11, 2011, will also know his fate tomorrow.
Rawlins was convicted for receiving a 8900 BlackBerry Curve (white) on July 31, 2010 which belonged to Allington Berridge, who was robbed of the cell phone and a sum of money at gunpoint.
Gibson Blake will also know his fate tomorrow.
He had pleaded guilty to abduction and burglary at his arraignment and also at the opening of the Criminal Assizes on May 10.
According to the evidence presented in court on July 10, 2010, Blake forcibly abducted a woman against her will with intent to rape.
He also burglarised her home and stole several items.
Mario ‘Antonio’ Harvey and Joseph ‘Baa’ Herbert were convicted of buggery by a 12-member jury on Tuesday (May 19) at the Basseterre High Court. They will be sentenced on June 2.
The trial, which began on May 17 in camera, had seen the Director of Public Prosecution, Paulina Hendrickson, calling on nine witnesses to support her case.
The men were convicted of committing the crime sometime between July and October 2010 on a 14-year-old boy whose learning ability is less than that of a kindergarten child.
