    Charlestown Nevis (September 7, 2006)
Newly elected representative for the St. Pauls Constituency, the Hon Robelto Hector, while presenting footballs to the Charlestown Primary School on Thursday September 7, called on volunteers to assist with the implementation of a homework after school session programme.

He noted that he had spoken to one of the teachers from the Charlestown Primary School, who had volunteered his time.  The Minister also noted that he was looking for assistance and suggestions from the community.

"I'm saying to you, that I welcome suggestions and I welcome volunteer work too, so those parents who know they can help, its an opportunity, I think, to help the creative minds of children and to develop them in the way that we would want to develop them," said Mr. Hector.

The area representative pointed out that the programme was expected to be a part of a community outreach programme that the Administration is proposing and that a community centre for Charlestown had been identified.  The programme is expected to run between the hours of 4 to 5:30 pm at the community centre.

~~Adz:Right~~In presenting the gears to the school, Minister Hector said, "I came particularly to offer to the school some footballs to assist you with your football programme.  These footballs were part of a programme that we began before coming into office as the Nevis Island Administration and particularly, a brainchild of myself."

He explained that when he enquired of the sporting aspect of the Charlestown Primary School, it was noted that the school had been very weak in the area of football, so he had decided to assist in the development of the game.

According to Minister Hector, "I've lived in Trinidad where I've seen a number of young folks made it to professional level playing the game.  I'm thinking that in the not too distant future, we should be able to do the same thing within Nevis, within Charlestown."

"My intension is not only to give to the Charlestown Primary School but to give to all the primary schools as sports assist in the development of everyone.
