Minor adjustments have been made to the portfolios of two Ministries following Monday's swearing-in of the Hon. Dennis Merchant as the Federation's new Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs.

The Ministry of Justice, which was previously with the Ministry of National Security, Immigration and Labour has been assigned to the Office of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Legal Affairs.

The Department of Consumer Affairs, previously attached to the Ministry of Housing, Agriculture and Fisheries will now fall within the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The Cabinet Secretariat said the minor changes take effect from Monday 11th September 2006.
