Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 14, 2006): The local media and visitors at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino got their first glimpse of what to expect at the Caribbean Gift and Craft Show yesterday.
The grounds of the Marriott were abuzz with activity yesterday as the booths were constructed to house the display items for the massive four-day event.
The media was also given first hand information on the activities and objectives of the show during a press conference on Wednesday.
A media representative explained that she was very excited at the prospect of the outstanding display of the region's finest authentic products. She noted further that if the press conference was any indication of the quality of the show the public has a great opportunity over the weekend.
~~Adz:Right~~The opening ceremony scheduled for 5:00 p.m. today will feature addresses the Executive Director of the Caribbean Export Development Agency, First Caribbean International Bank representatives and Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism Hon. Richard Skerritt.
Following the ceremony will be the presentation of the First Caribbean International Bank Sponsored Best of Show Awards by Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor.
