It is often said that a liar has no memory. This adage however only applies to the casual liar not steeped in the tradition of constantly misinforming a Nation to achieve their political goals.
The section of liars to whom this adage does not apply are those liars, who even after being caught in a lie will seek to further mislead people by compounding their lie with another lie after their lie has been exposed.
The leaders and persons in PAM responsible for spreading their propaganda through deceit and deception fall squarely into this second category.
Their was a time when the hand picked leadership of PAM and the merchants of deceit employed at the party's official mouthpiece could be heard telling the nation that under the leadership of Dr. Denzil Douglas and his Labour Party Government the Nations' economy was in a tailspin and could only be cured if PAM were returned to power.
Time and the truth have caused the Democrat in last week's edition to do an unbelievable job of recanting on that lie and admitting that they were wrong. Their withdrawal from this point however was not by choice but because the weight of the evidence exposed their lie to all and sundry.
The truth is that under the present Labour Party Government the economy of this Federation has grown by leaps and bounds. And despite all the talk about Labour being against the private sector, Labour has created an economic climate that has allowed many private sector companies to experience growth that they had never ever seen before, NOT EVEN UNDER PAM!
But one should not just take this paper's word for it; go and check the financial reports of National Bank, T.D.C, Horsford's, St. Kitts Breweries and the Bottling Company just to name a few of the private sector organizations that have flourished under the leadership of Labour.
The truth is that Labour has delivered when it comes to developing the economy!
Because this truth has been verified by local, regional and international organizations, PAM has been made to look like fools for their lies and have now sought to artfully redefine the normal definition that economists use to determine growth.
Their new misguided argument is that the growth that the Federation has experienced in the last few years is not real growth that has trickled down to the ordinary citizens. They have tried to say that the growth the country experienced under their reign was growth that caused the average citizens to have more money in their pocket.
The mere repetition of this ludicrous argument shows what PAM considers as growth and wealth for ordinary citizens in this country.
Under Labour citizens of this country have experienced an unprecedented increase in their overall wealth (as never before). Any political organization who would argue that cash in hand equates to wealth is not deserving of managing an individual bank account much less that of an entire country.
All the commercial banks in this country have recorded record amounts on their books as far as savings are concerned. More citizens have increased their wealth by acquiring land and/or house which had not occurred until a Labour Government took office in 1995.
In addition, more citizens have had the opportunity to acquire a University education than ever before in this history of this country.
These statistics are positive proof that citizens have acquired more wealth under this Labour Government than under the previous (PAM) administration. No amount of talk about money in citizens' pocket can erase that unmistakable truism.
By any definition that PAM might try to adopt at this point in time, the truth is that Labour has managed this economy and the nation as a whole well and far better than anything called PAM.
As time marches on more and more of the deceit that PAM has tried to spread will come to light and the nation will see that they are not qualified for anything more than spreading propaganda and misinformation.
Labour's performance in government has been unmatchable; they have done everything better than PAM. There is no comparison!
