The Disney Cruise Ship Wonder visits St. Kitts and Nevis on Sunday. |
Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 22, 2006): The cruise ship "Disney Wonder" makes its inaugural visit to St. Kitts and Nevis on Sunday (September 24).
The 2,600 passenger capacity vessel will berth at Port Zante at 7:00 a.m., its fifth stop on an eleven night South Caribbean cruise. The passengers will disembark to the pulsating rhythms of steel pan as they explore the cultural and natural offerings at the center of the tourism product. Meanwhile, onboard the ship, the Captain and crew will be welcomed by tourism officials and industry stakeholders at a brief plaque exchange ceremony.
"Once again and for the first time this new (cruise) season, every national who comes into contact with our visitors will have an opportunity to help ensure that St. Kitts and Nevis is placed on Disney Cruise Line's itinerary, by being courteous and warmly welcoming (to the excursionists)," said Christine Walwyn, acting Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.
Passengers are expected to take tours, shop, visit beaches or just stroll around historic Basseterre.
