Port-of-Spain, Trinidad (September 27, 2006): The Royalties band of St. Kitts-Nevis showed the CARIFESTA that size does not determine the quality of your work.  It is rather a desire to be the best and a willingness to commit oneself.

One of the youngest bands at CARIFESTA IX held its own amongst the Caribbean's top bands at the grand market last evening.  With a repertoire "fit to be delivered" by the most seasoned musicians, the band took audiences through various genres smoothly, effortlessly, with much accuracy and pomp.

The audience present did not budge and stayed with the performance until it ended around midnight.  According to a national of Trinidad & Tobago, "The band is excellent! I didn't want to move. My wife must be wondering where I am.  St. Kitts-Nevis is doing a good thing promoting the youths.  They were the best performing band this evening."

Mariece Roberts, one of the two lead singers for Royalties said, "We have to thank the Ministry of Tourism, Sports & Culture for giving us this opportunity to come to CARIFESTA.  We have been able to perform in front of new audiences and observe other bands and learn from them."

Royalties' third and final performance will be at the Grand Market on the evening of Friday, September 29, 2006.
