By Dr. Charles Warner
In the same hand!
On entering the arrival hall at the RLB Airport on the night of February 7th 2010 my eyes were caught by a rather energetic Caucasian-looking female performing on the TV monitor. Initially I thought that it was part of the NFL Super Bowl half-time show. Closer attention revealed that it was an act forming part of the swearing-in ceremony and that it was of a gospel origin. By the time I cleared immigration another white person had taken the stage, this one appearing to be a pastor.
I admit that the singing was great but all I could do was to laugh. Religious and Christian acts were a main part of the ceremony!
The whole issue points to what a number of keen observers have been pointing to in terms of the behaviour of Dr. Douglas, the Labour party and those who have been corrupted by Labourism. There is this mockery, insulting and in-your-face behaviour.
The fraud, thievery, immorality and dishonesty had its roots from the level of the position of the Governor General, the Prime Minister, Electoral office and officials. Civil Society, Church organizations, Religious leaders, police, army down to the average voter, all were accomplices and effectors of blatant thievery.
All ignored the Commandment “THOU SHALL NOT STEAL”. All ignored parental guidance that HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. All sacrificed at the altar of King Douglas. On Election Day, for many people THERE WAS NO GOD; THEY WORSHIPPED DENZIL DOUGLAS AND THE BOOK OF LABOUR.
It is likely that in every election there have been individuals who made the decision to cheat. On January 25th 2010 the nation witnessed Labour government/party or INSTITUTIONALISED FRAUD. It is nothing new; Labour has continued its long history of “thiefing” elections. The case of Dr. Simmonds and Riberio is well documented in the Courts. Those who say that it was done under PAM will always have to contend with the documented fact that under the PAM, LEE MOORE signed off that the ELECTIONS WERE FREE AND FAIR.
After all the dishonesty and thieving the Labour party decided to abandon the dance hall performers and highlight the swearing in with the presence and performance of Religious personnel. Apparently God was to be amidst the performance and give his blessing to what was attained by dishonest means. Many of the persons who committed and facilitated fraud were in the audience waving and singing away. Christian teaching tells that God will not bless unfairly gotten gains and certainly God does not take too well on making mockery of his principles and guidelines. It is also written that God chooses whom to bless and what offerings to accept.
Apart from flaunting their dishonesty in the face of all, those who committed fraud apparently feel that God can be fooled. The aggression and mockery has gone to the point where religious leader(s) have been targeted. The story of Bishop Ron Collins has hit the news. Apparently, the Bishop was to do like other church members e.g. Isaiah Phillip and turn a blind eye to wrong, making no comment. It is clear that the Labour villains and leadership do not feel that Ron Collins is anointed. Apparently, too, the Labour party leaders are accustomed to pastors like Leroy Benjamin, he who has become the first pastor told by God to abandon God’s work and do the bidding of Dr. Douglas.
According to the Collins’ report, neither the Evangelical Association nor the Christian Council was invited to take any part in the ceremony but members were a part of the audience. It was said that Reverend Isaiah Phillip was present in an individual capacity or plainly a Labour supporter. There is nothing wrong in Isaiah Phillip supporting the party of his choice, but when a Minister remains quiet in the face of wrong the society suffers. Further, Isaiah Phillip was an observer of the elections (seen in Challengers). So far no comments have been heard from the dear father.
Isaiah Phillip needs to know that the young people of our country are waiting for his comments and guidance with respect to the past elections. The father too must not be seen to be worshipping at the altar of Dr. Douglas but at the altar of the living God.
On the morning of February 10, 2010 a pastor on ZIZ was asking the opposition to accept a loss as there has to be a winner and loser. This is the hypocritical jump rope that exists in this country. There was no appeal for a fair electoral system. The positions or outcomes of winner and loser are to be accepted with no regard for fair play, morals and principle. Apparently the ends justify the means. This is exactly what is causing the decay in our society. The children bring money and material into the home; they have no source of income. No questions are asked and everybody “part-take” in the loot.
Pastor Benjamin is in his element. The moment the elections have passed he is on the state media asking all who are falsely registered to be properly registered exactly where they live. Apparently the pastor has just discovered that persons are illegally registered. A week before the election he was telling all to vote where they are registered. Pastor Benjamin knew that persons were registering falsely and actually knew of persons attempting false registration.
In all of this the question must be raised as to what lesson is being taught to our young people in the light of the crime problem. Dr. Douglas is teaching the young people to achieve their goals by whatever means, honestly or dishonestly. Dr. Douglas has been heard admonishing parents to guide their children along the right path. Many of these very parents were encouraged and paid by the Labour party to engage in “thiefing”. How are these children to behave when they are fully aware of the blatant wrongs done by their parents.
After all the dishonesty and wrong the ceremony is highlighted by religious or Christian activities. God is to give his blessing and approval to wrongdoers as they celebrate ill-gotten gain. Many of the churchmen who sanction the wrong will later be asking our children to be Christian, to be moral and honest.
FRANKLY WE CANNOT HOLD FIRE AND WATER.
