    Sargeant Clive Benjamin
    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 5TH 2006 -
    Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Officer, Sgt. Clive Benjamin, who died in the line of duty on Sunday, will be buried with full military honours next week Friday, 13th October 2006.
    A police spokesman told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister that family members will be meeting on Thursday with a Special Committee, to finalise funeral arrangements.
     
    The service for Benjamin, 38, will be held at the Cayon Moravian Church instead of the Cayon Church of God and will be conducted by Pastor Ben Browne of the Church of God.
     
    Benjamin joined the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force on December 30th 1986 after serving as a Cadet for 16 months. Upon Passing-Out, following the six months initial training programme, at the Police Training Complex, he was posted at Beat and patrol .
     
    A statement from the Police Commissioner's Office said that during his tenure on Beat and Patrol, Benjamin was known for his "vigilance, valour and commitment."
     
    While on the Beat, his suspicion at 2:00 A.M. led to the discovery of the proprietor of Avondale Restaurant, who doctors claimed would have been a dead man if he was found hours later.
     
    Sgt. Benjamin was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department on September 12th 1994. He has investigated numerous incidents and has given professional evidence in hundreds of police cases.
     
    After serving in the Criminal Investigation Department for seven years, Sgt. Benjamin was transferred. He has worked in several police stations in St. Kitts and Nevis including Sandy Point, Tabernacle, Cayon, St. Paul's, Charlestown, Gingerland and the Frigate Bay Outpost, where was last assigned.
     

    ~~Adz:Right~~Regarded as a committed, hardworking, dedicated and outstanding police officer, Benjamin attended a Crime Scene Specialist Course in Barbados in 1995, was nominated as the Most Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer in 1997 and promoted to the rank of Sargeant in 2001. He has also served as Sargeant-At-Arms during sittings of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly.
